I’m skilled in modern web technologies and actively keep up with industry trends, making sure my code is as future proof as possible. Recently I’ve been moving projects away from jQuery towards vanilla JavaScript and React, which are more efficient and easier to maintain.
Working in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma, I can take a designer’s files and slice them into a pixel perfect website, and feed back if something isn’t achievable or there’s a better way of doing it. Figma prototypes in particular keep design and development working towards the same vision.
When building from a design I consider everything that makes a difference once the site goes live, with SEO and accessibility at the heart of it. Making sure a website can reach as many people as possible is a vital step in my build process.
In recent years I’ve been learning and applying AI tools into my workflow. Using these tools has meant that I no longer need to spend hours chasing bugs and can focus all of my efforts on accessibility, usability and building the richest experience possible.
I feel that it’s important to not fully rely on AI coding tools though. Before committing any AI generated code, I ensure that I thoroughly test and read the code before applying it to any production builds.
